Material
Solid wood is such a precious material, technically one of the most scarce resources in the universe, because it needs life to exist. On the smaller scale of our planet it is widely available and has been used for ages. I want to capture the beauty of different kinds of wood while respecting the climate and nature. I strongly prefer to use only local materials.Â
Design Philosophy
I enjoy emotional and spiritual growth, reading and staying open to different perspectives, investigating what moves people and why they make the choices they do, starting with myself. What is more human than the interactions we share, the connection or distance we feel. In this age of rapid digitization, flying cars and artificial intelligence a lot of makers look to nature for inspiration or to recenter. I take my design inspiration from the inner world and processes. Focusing on our shared humanity from within.
